Understanding the differences between

Mixed Amphetamine Salts
(MAS) Formulations

Treating ADHD since 1996

Mydayis is an extended-release Mixed Amphetamine Salts (MAS, for short) ADHD treatment that was approved in 2017. Other MAS medications have been used for the treatment of ADHD for more than 20 years. While it is not exactly known how MAS work to treat the symptoms of ADHD, the theory is that this type of stimulant enhances the effects of key brain signaling molecules. This page will help you understand the similarities and differences between Mydayis and other MAS medications.

Types of mixed amphetamine salts (MAS) medications

MAS medications are made up of a combination of amphetamine salts. They are commonly classified as either immediate release (IR) or extended-release (ER) MAS medications. They differ in dosage form, when the medication releases in the body, and how long their effect lasts. The MAS ER medications contain different types of drug-releasing beads. Approved in 2017, Mydayis is a type of MAS ER product that features 3 types of drug-releasing beads.

The common types of MAS medications are made up of a combination of amphetamine salts and can be divided into immediate-release (IR) and extended-release (ER).

Tablet and capsules shown are not actual size.

The data shown for MAS IR and MAS ER (other) are based on the cumulative experience of physicians in the treatment of ADHD in a clinical setting. Scientific studies designed to compare the duration of effect for different MAS medications have not been performed. Mydayis data is from the Mydayis Prescribing Information. Talk to your healthcare provider about any questions you may have about the different medications.
